1. The position today
This website sets no cookies. Not for analytics, not for advertising, and not for the calculator. It also loads no third-party scripts, so nobody else sets cookies through it either. If that changes, this page will change first, and you will be asked before any non-essential cookie is placed.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, and to send back on later visits. Cookies can be essential (keeping you logged in, remembering a consent choice), analytical (counting visits), or used for advertising (recognising you across sites). Similar technologies include local and session storage, which store information in your browser without sending it anywhere, and tracking pixels, which are tiny images that report a page view to a third party. UK law requires your consent for anything that is not strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.
3. What this site uses instead
- Session storage, for the calculator
- When you move the sliders, the amount, term, trading history and credit band you choose are kept in your browser's session storage, so they are still there if you scroll away and come back. Session storage is private to your browser tab, is never sent to us or anyone else, and is cleared when you close the tab. It is strictly necessary for the calculator to work as you would expect, so it does not need consent.
- Nothing else
- No consent banner is shown because there is nothing to consent to. The calculator's figures are worked out on your device. Your details reach us only when you choose to submit the enquiry form, and what happens to them then is explained in our privacy statement.
4. Cookies we do not currently use
We may in future want to understand how people use this page, or to measure the advertising that brings them here. The tools we would consider are listed below so there are no surprises. None is active. If we introduce any of them, we will first add a consent banner, update this table with the cookie names and lifetimes, and set nothing until you agree.

5. Sites we link to
This page links to the FCA register, Companies House, Trustpilot, the British Business Bank and the AFS complaints page so you can check what we say. Those sites set their own cookies under their own policies once you arrive there. Following a link is your choice, and nothing on those sites is loaded into this one.
6. Hosting logs
Like every website, ours is served by a hosting provider (Netlify) that keeps short-lived server logs of requests, including the IP address they came from. These are not cookies and store nothing on your device. They are kept for security and fault finding and are covered in our privacy statement.
7. How to control cookies in your browser
You do not need to do anything to avoid cookies from this site, because it sets none. If you want to manage cookies from other sites, every major browser lets you view, block and delete them:
Clearing site data in your browser will also clear the session storage described above, which simply resets the calculator to its defaults.
